“And welcome back to the Rosie O’Donnell show. On the show today-
pop singer Aliesa Montaine and from the group Westlife,
Shane Filan.” Rosie smiled at the pair. “Now most people
out there know that you two are married. You both were recently a
cover story for Rolling Stone
Magazine. Let’s get the shot of that on the screen here…I liked
that picture.” She turned behind her. “There we are. Aliesa Montaine and Shane Filan: In Love
and Fame,” she read the
caption. “And you were just on Diary on MTV, which by the
way I totally thought that ending was cute. The whole thing about
Shane being a good kisser.” She motioned, and Aliesa
giggled at the mention. “But you normally don’t do promotions
together, right.”
“Yeah, honestly,” Shane started. “This is the first time we’ve both
been out, because even though we’re both in the music business -
we
obviously have such separate careers,” Shane explained. “So being
here, together, not one of us backstage or somewhere else, actually
being interviewed at the same time for something, this is new for us.”
Rosie nodded. “It’s different huh?”
Shane grinned, “ Yeah, it’s kind of strange having to talk about
us, and her being right next to me.”
“And if I remember right the
last time you were on the show with the other guys in your group-
you were telling me
about how you and Aliesa met. How she ignored you and turned you
down when you asked her out.”
Shane nodded in readied
agreement. “She definitely did.”
Rosie glanced over at
Aliesa, “Did you really turn this boy down Aliesa?”
Aliesa turned crimson.
“Well…yeah,” she admitted. “But really he did first,” she
interjected. “If we’re getting technical Rosie- he ignored me
first.”
“Oh really?”
Aliesa bit back a laugh as Shane shook his head. “That doesn’t
count…”
“We’d actually officially met before that party where he asked me out,”
Aliesa clarified. “It was before I released my first single, and
I was relatively unknown outside the industry circuit. We got
introduced, and it was one of those hi-bye situations. He didn’t
even attempt to talk to me then.”
Shane attempted to explain. “It was one of those mingling
parties. It shouldn’t count. You meet so many people…”
“That’s just his excuse...”
“So it wasn’t love at first sight?” Rosie cut-in.
Aliesa laughed, “Far from it,” she clarified.
“Okay, let me get this straight – You meet, you both ignore each other,
but you still got together later?” Rosie questioned.
Aliesa nodded. “Eventually, despite his corny pick-up.”
Rosie laughed. “I heard about that one.”
“I know. It was bad…” Aliesa cracked.
“She couldn’t resist me,” Shane boasted.
“No, you couldn’t resist me. I turned you down first remember,”
Aliesa countered turning to him.
Shane smiled. “But in the end you said yes.”
Aliesa smiled back, “Yeah, in the end I said yes.”
